In 2013, the Edmonton Petroleum Club Junior Open became a major new  addition to the Tour.   The General Manager at that time, Grant Cammidge, expressed a desire to inaugurate a new Junior Golf event at the "Pete Club" and we are proud to have been asked by current Head Professional Kyle Boyd to have the event back on our 2019 Tour schedule.  Mr. Cammidge has long had an outstanding reputation as a major builder and supporter of junior golf in Alberta and while he is no longer at the Pete Club, we sincerely appreciate Grant's efforts to get this presigious event up and running.

The tournaments at the "Pete Club" have been tremendous successes and we are certain that word of mouth with the players will make this year's tournament even more outstanding.  They had the biggest field of the year the past three years running, and we suspect that this year's event will be no different.

The course  is located just a few miles southwest of the Edmonton city limits on 215 St.  They have formerly hosted both the Alberta Junior Boys' Championship and the Golf Canada Junior Boys' Championship,  as well as the 2015 Sun Life Financial Alberta Amateur Championship, so this will be an outstanding test of the competitors' abilities.

The club also hosted the 2018 Oil Country Championship on the PGA Tour - Canada Mackenzie Tour the week prior to their Junior Open.  This is a "MUST PLAY" event on the Tour in the Edmonton area.

There  will be some road construction underway all summer in the Lessard neighbourhood in  SW Edmonton, so my recommendation would be to take 215 St. (Winterburn Road) all the way south to the course. The 2019 tournament will have an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
