Carstairs is a "GO"

Jul 11, 2017

Tuesday, July 11, 11:30 am - In the Head Pro's office here in Carstairs. Course is a bit soggy, and it's drizzling but they are open and there are lots of people on the golf course right now, so we are still a GO for this afternoon's Junior Open. No lightning, forecast is for the rain to subside by around 2 pm or so, so we're playing. If you never play golf in the wind and rain, you never learn how to play in the wind and the rain! Let's have some fun! First tee time is 1:30 p.m.

Kaura , Gerrard Have Great Rounds at McKenzie Meadows

Jul 10, 2017

Shiv Kaura, 16, of Pinebrook fired a sterling 3-under par 69 this morning to capture the McKenzie Meadows Junior Open, today's stop on the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour, Presented by Crowe MacKay. This was Kaura's first-ever McLennan Ross Tour event, as he has been living in Qatar, but he made the most of the opportunity and finished 6 shots clear of runner-up Alex Gerrard, 13, of Innisfail. Gerrard's round of 75 was his career-low in competition. Full results are now on the Tour website.

Calling All Players! Entries Needed Now!

Jul 05, 2017

Three events are on tap next week on the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour. We are at McKenzie Meadows in Calgary on Monday, July 10th, Carstairs on Tuesday, July 11 and Olds on Wednesday, July 12th. And we need to fill out our entries for all of these tournaments! I know that the Alberta Golf Junior Boys and Girls' championships are on this week at Coal Creek Golf Resort near Tofield, but there are hundreds of other junior golfers around the province who didn't qualify for provincials who are looking for good quality competition at affordable prices. If you are planning on competing in any or all three of these McLennan Ross Tour events next week, please phone the courses TODAY to enter. It helps the local clubs plan better for their events and we certainly don't want to cancel any more events for lack of entries as we had to do for the Drayton Valley tournament originally scheduled for tomorrow. Please don't leave this until the last minute, players. Thanks.

Noah "Hackett's" It Around in Innisfail

Jul 04, 2017

Noah Hackett of Ponoka (See picture attached) had a steady 6-over par 76 today under sunny skies and battling a stiff breeze at the Innisfail Junior Open, today's stop on the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour, Presented by Crowe MacKay. Hackett's round was two shots clear of Jackson Squires of Pheasantback and Chase Bodoano of Broadmoor, as the players on hand tackled arguably the toughest track on the Tour. The slick greens and narrow fairways of the central Alberta Innisfail layout always give the kids fits, and today was no exception. Full results will be on the Tour website by 9:30 pm this evening. Innisfail, Drayton Valley on Tour This Week!

Jul 02, 2017

Two events are on this week's Tour schedule. Tuesday, July 4th we are in Innisfail for an 11 a.m. crossover tee times start. Check with the club for your exact tee time for what is always one of the most challenging layouts on the Tour schedule. This Thursday, July 6th, we have the weather-delayed Drayton Valley Junior Open, which was re-scheduled after inclement weather postponed their original date in late May. With the top Alberta juniors occupied this week at the Alberta Golf Junior Championships at Coal Creek Golf Resort, this is a great opportunity for those kids who didn't qualify for provincials to get some valuable tournament experience with a great chance to qualify for the Tour Championship. Drayton's event is a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Entries are still open today for both events.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
