Mason Kucy, Belle Brezovski Best in Stony

Aug 13, 2018

The Stony Plain Junior Open pre-exists the McLennan Ross Junior Tour by many years, and we are proud to have had the Stony event on the Tour since our 2nd year in 1997. Today's renewal saw Mason Kucy of Camrose snag top spot in the boys' division with a 3-over 75, three shots clear of his clubmate Erik Bouck, Zach Zabot of Eagle Point, and Arend de Waal of Barrhead. In the junior girls' flight, Sturgeon Valley's Belle Brezovski turned the tables on her older sister Brooke as well as the Wingnean sisters from the Derrick in posting a fine score of 80 for her first Tour win. With the later start of the Stony Plain tournament at 2 pm this afternoon, the full results of today's event won't go up on the Tour website until Tuesday morning.

Titleist Order of Merit Updated Through Ponoka

Aug 13, 2018

On a rare day back in the office this morning,,,,updated the Titleist Order of Merit standings through the tournament at Ponoka. I will do my best to get the standings updated later tonight through last week's events at the Edmonton Petroleum Club and Trestle Creek, but at least now I'm only less than ONE week behind! Lots of changes near the top, so check out the standings to see the Top Ten and ties in each division. Off to Stony Plain shortly for their event this afternoon....

Scorcher at Trestle Creek

Aug 09, 2018

OMG it got hot out there today at Trestle Creek Golf and RV Resort, about 45 minutes west of the Edmonton city limits. Temperatures soared to the 33C range by the time the junior golfers were off the course, but the kids slugged it out, drank lots of fluids and posted some fine scores on a very difficult and challenging layout. Cole Ruelling's back-to-back wins on Tour seem SOOOOOOOOO "last week" now as Jarrett Bossert of Belvedere has now captured consecutive titles of his own. Bossert's 76 today was a shot better than Ruelling and Chase Bodoano of Broadmoor. Jayla Kucy of Camrose shot an excellent 81 to post the best score of the junior girls on hand this morning. Full results of today's event will be on the Tour website by 8:00 pm. (I made it with four minutes to spare!)

Tour Championship Qualifier Letters Have Now Gone Out

Aug 08, 2018

We have now sent out emails to all the players who have qualified for the Tour Championship at Wolf Creek on August 27th, up to and including those players who qualified earlier to day at the Edmonton Petroleum Club. We had a few emails bounce back to me, but it was because I got a letter or number written down wrong. If you think you have qualified for Wolf Creek and you DIDN'T get an email from me this evening, please email me (address is on the website under Contact Us) and we can sort it out. The summary of the Confirmation Letter is as follows.... More »

Bossert, Seto Capture Titles at the Pete Club

Aug 08, 2018

What a wonderful day for junior golf! The Edmonton Petroleum GCC hosted the Tour today to a season-high 80 players from across the province. When the smoke cleared,,,pardon the pun (hazy day from BC fires), Jarrett Bossert of Belvedere snapped Cole Ruelling's two-tournament win streak with an excellent round of 1-under par 71. Ruelling's bid for a 3-peat just missed, as he and Kaiden Nicholson of Edmonton CC tied for second a single shot back with even-par 72s. In the junior girls' division, we had 11 competitors on hand this morning, and 13-year-old Kalee Seto of the Royal Mayfair showed the way with a nifty 79 to take the title. Full results of this terrific junior golf tournament will be on the Tour website by 5 pm.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
