Schedule Date Change for Lacombe

Mar 06, 2017

We have a schedule change to announce for the Jordan Brand Memorial Junior Open in Lacombe. Originally scheduled for Wednesday, July 5th, the tournament has been re-scheduled to Wednesday, August 2nd to avoid a conflict with the Alberta Golf Junior Boys and Girls Championship. One of the four remaining charter members of the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour, Lacombe has always attracted a strong field of competitors to the beautiful and challenging central Alberta layout. The tournament will remain a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Betty Stanhope-Cole Passes Away

Jan 30, 2017

I was very saddened to learn yesterday of the passing of Betty Stanhope-Cole of Edmonton, a member of both the Canadian and Alberta Golf Hall-of-Fame. For you younger people reading this, Betty was one of the best female Canadian golfers EVER, period, end of sentence. She won everything in Edmonton, Alberta, and Canada that there was to win, and she did so many times over. Her ability and desire to compete are legendary in Alberta golf circles. A lifetime member of Highlands GC in Edmonton, Betty was also a longtime friend of my mom's when she played a lot of golf with Betty at the Highlands, and I have no doubt that Betty's passion for playing golf the right way, and by the Rules, was passed on to my mother and then to me as I grew up. So, when I give you a ruling on the Tour, you can thank Betty! LOL Betty was also a longtime volunteer with Alberta Golf, lending her talents to the game with her time and energy. Betty is a legend in golf in Canada and she will be missed.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
