Nick Zimmer of the Derrick Golf and Winter Club became one of only a handful of players aged 13 or less to win a McLennan Ross Junior Tour event today in Whitecourt. Rimmer, who won't turn 14 until November, fired a steady 4-over par 76 today on the tight, tree-lined fairways and immaculate greens of the Whitecourt GCC to edge Austin Noskiye of The Links of Spruce Grove and Sam Hamelin of Pheasanback by a single shot. In the junior girls' division, Hailey Turcotte of the Mighty Peaces GC shot an 88 to win her flight. Full results will be on the website by 8 p.m. this evening

Spriddle, Joseph Beat the Winds in Lethbridge

Jun 19, 2016

Home from the road! Longest road trip of the Tour season is now out of the way after the windup today of the 36-hole Henderson Lake Junior Open in Lethbridge. After a lovely day on Saturday with warm skies and light breezes, today brought out some of the more predictable strong southern Alberta winds. Lachlan Spriddle, 18, of the host club and 14-year-old Chelsea Joseph of Lethbridge Country Club tamed the conditions the best today and captured the junior boys and junior girls divisions respectively. Spriddle's 36-hole total of 74-81 (155) was a single shot clear of Country Hills' Matthew Tse (76-80) with Taber's Andrew Makarchuk (79-78) another shot back in third place. Joseph fired steady rounds of 87-89 to earn her first McLennan Ross Tour win. Full results will go up on the website Monday morning, but for now, I'm heading for bed after a 5-hour drive home! Monday - 8:27 a.m. - full results are now on the website in the Results section. Sleep? What's sleep?

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
