Tour Championship Qualifier Letters Have Now Gone Out

Aug 08, 2018

We have now sent out emails to all the players who have qualified for the Tour Championship at Wolf Creek on August 27th, up to and including those players who qualified earlier to day at the Edmonton Petroleum Club. We had a few emails bounce back to me, but it was because I got a letter or number written down wrong. If you think you have qualified for Wolf Creek and you DIDN'T get an email from me this evening, please email me (address is on the website under Contact Us) and we can sort it out. The summary of the Confirmation Letter is as follows.... More »

Bossert, Seto Capture Titles at the Pete Club

Aug 08, 2018

What a wonderful day for junior golf! The Edmonton Petroleum GCC hosted the Tour today to a season-high 80 players from across the province. When the smoke cleared,,,pardon the pun (hazy day from BC fires), Jarrett Bossert of Belvedere snapped Cole Ruelling's two-tournament win streak with an excellent round of 1-under par 71. Ruelling's bid for a 3-peat just missed, as he and Kaiden Nicholson of Edmonton CC tied for second a single shot back with even-par 72s. In the junior girls' division, we had 11 competitors on hand this morning, and 13-year-old Kalee Seto of the Royal Mayfair showed the way with a nifty 79 to take the title. Full results of this terrific junior golf tournament will be on the Tour website by 5 pm.

Ruelling Continues his "Heater"; Jayla Kucy Top Girl in Ponoka

Aug 07, 2018

Cole Ruelling of Lewis Estates continued his hot streak today in Ponoka, firing a 1-over 73 to edge Cole Bergheim of Red Deer GCC and Cole Fox of Innisfail by a single shot. No 12-shot blowout this morning as he did at Goose Hummock last week. Tip of the Week for parents: If you want your kid to have a future in golf, name him Cole. In the junior girls division, Jayla Kucy, 12, of Camrose fired a fine 82 to come out on top of that flight. Full results will be up on the Tour website by 6 this evening.

Directions to the Edmonton Petroleum Club

Aug 05, 2018

Sunday, August 5 - 2:30 pm...I just got home from helping out at the Pete Club the last two days with the Mackenzie Tour PGA Tour Canada professional tournament on there this week. After going back and forth to the club a few times the last couple of days, I wanted to put up some recommendations for competitors and parents travelling to the Edmonton Petroleum Club this coming Wednesday for the McLennan Ross Junior Tour event. I would recommend either of two routes: 1. Go all the way south on Winterburn Road (215 St.) The club is on 9th Ave, south of Garden Valley Road (23 Ave). You can access 215 St. by going west on the Whitemud Freeway and then turning south. 2. If you are taking the Henday, take Exit 12, which is Cameron Heights Dr. Go west a few blocks to 184 St., south a few blocks to 23 Ave., west to 215 St. and then south to the club. I have discovered that 199 St. IS now open all the way south to 23 Ave., but I came back that way today after Round 4 of the McKenzie Tour event, and 199 St. is fairly slow going in comparison to either the Henday or 215 St. Remember, it's an 8 am shotgun start, and the club supplies fresh muffins and juice for the players, so please leave lots of time to get to the club, register, warm up and get a bite to eat.

Ruelling Rolls at The Goose

Aug 03, 2018

Cole Ruelling, 16, of Lewis Estates GC, continued his scorching play on the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour today at Goose Hummock Golf Resort just north of Gibbons. Ruelling duplicated Thursday's 3-under par 68 with another 68 this morning. His 36-hole total of 136 lapped the field as he finished a dozen shots clear of runner-up Josh Salcedo of Jagare Ridge. River Ridge's Josh Robertson got on the podium with his 2-day total of 150. After the conclusion of play at Goose Hummock today, I went out to the Edmonton Petroleum GCC for a few hours to watch some of the top young golf professionals on the Mackenzie Tour PGA Tour Canada strut their stuff. Now, it's time for a bite to eat, and then get today's results up on the website, hopefully by 8:00 this evening.

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors.
