Ruelling is Overnight Leader at Goose Hummock

Aug 02, 2018

Cole Ruelling of Lewis Estates fired a terrific 3-under par 68 this afternoon at Goose Hummock Golf Resort to take the overnight lead in the Goose Hummock Junior Open. But it is far from a runaway as Josh Salcedo of Jagare Ridge is lurking two shots back after a fine 1-under par 70 of his own. Tee times begin at 8:00 am on Friday as the juniors will complete the 36-hole event. At "press time",,,,translation = when I was having supper,,,,,the kids were heading out for MORE golf in the fun Horse Race that head pro Mike McEvay has organized for the players.

Takin' the Red Eye! Broderson Drives Home to Win at Lacombe

Aug 01, 2018

He had a heart-breaker in Medicine Hat, missing the cut yesterday at the Golf Canada Canadian Junior Boys Championship by a single shot, but that didn't damper Chase Broderson's spirit. With his mom at the wheels, Chase left The 'Hat at 3:30 am and got back to his home course in time to tee it up this morning at the Jordan Brand Memorial Junior Open, today's stop on the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour, Presented by Crowe MacKay. Four hours and 72 shots later, Broderson got a nice consolation present with a win in his home club's junior open. Full results are now up on the Tour website.

This Just In! Canmore is Kinda Nice!

Jul 30, 2018

Few locations on the planet can match Canmore for spectacular Rocky Mountain scenery, summer or winter. When you get a terrific golf course in superb condition, mix in 40-odd enthusiastic junior golfers from as far away as Edmonton and Bonnyville and stir in a wonderfully organized junior golf tournament, you get today's Canmore Junior Open. Carlos Bagni of River Spirit GC and Brynne Davies of Earl Grey turned in the low scores today in the junior boys and junior girls flights respectively, but I think it's fair to say that we all came away winners from the experience this morning. I just got back to Edmonton from a four-hour drive home (short detour to Mackay's in Cochrane) and will have the full results up on the Tour website by 10 pm.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
