It's All Greek To Me - Strathmore Winners

It was a scorcher today in Strathmore for their Junior Open, as temperatures hit 33C by the conclusion of play. Elias Theodossopoulos of the Glencoe made his first start of the season on the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour, Presented by Crowe Mackay, and made the most of his day, firing a fine 1-over par 73 to edge Richard Dou of Canyon Meadows by a single shot. Chelsea Joseph of Lethbridge CC was the only girl on hand this morning, but had a nice round of 83 just the same. Srixon Order of Merit Updated Through Pinebrook

The 2017 Srixon Order of Merit standings have been updated up to and including yesterday's tournament at Pinebrook. Some shuffling around in the Top Ten and ties in each age group, so please click on the Order of Merit link on the Home Page menu to view the latest standings.

Inglewood Juniors Sweep at "The Hipple"

For over thirty years, the Kevin Hipple Memorial Junior Open has been a mainstay of the Calgary area junior golf landscape. The annual renewal of the tournament went on today under warm, sunny skies at Pinebrook GCC in the city's southwest corner. Andrew Widjaja and Sharmaine Rapisura, both playing out of Inglewood GCC in Calgary, took top honours in the junior boys and junior girls divisions, respectively. Widjaja fired a 1-under par 70 and Rapisura, the 2015 McLennan Ross Junior Tour Champion, was best among the girls with a fine 76. Full results will be on the Tour's website by 9 p.m. tonight

Heading for Calgary later this afternoon after watching The Open. Kevin Hipple Memorial Junior Open tomorrow at Pinebrook GCC, 8 a.m. shotgun start. Phoned Strathmore GC this morning, site of their event on Thursday this week. Entries coming in nicely, but plenty of room yet for their tournament. Entries for Strathmore close on Wednesday at 5 pm. The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
