Another Career Low in Carstairs

Jul 24, 2018

Braden O'Grady, 15, of the Edmonton Petroleum GCC, fired a career-best in competition 1-under par 71 this afternoon to capture the Carstairs Junior Open championship. O'Grady will be representing Alberta very shortly in the annual Alberta / Montana Ryder Cup competition, to be held this year in Whitefish MT. This was O'Grady's first start on the McLennan Ross Junior Tour this summer, and he certainly made the trip south from Edmonton well worth his while. In the junior girls' division, the host club's Abi Hartzler fired an 85 to earn her first title of the season. Full results will be on the Tour website by 9:30 this evening.

Outstanding Inaugural RedTail Landing Junior Open

Jul 23, 2018

We were very pleased to be able to add RedTail Landing GC in Nisku to the McLennan Ross Junior Tour schedule this year. The club just finished hosting the 2018 Sun Life Financial Alberta Men's Amateur Championship last week, and in fact, a few of the juniors on hand today were also in the field last week competing for the provincial men's amateur title. Yes, the course has suffered some winter kill this year. But we could not have been treated better by the entire team at RedTail Landing and we look forward to the opportunity of returning again next year. When play was completed, Trevor Devlin of Blackhawk had bagged his first Tour win with a sparkling 2-under par 70, low round on the Tour this year and Brooke Brezovski of Sturgeon Valley GC made her first Tour start of the year well worthwhile with an 81 to best a field of 10 junior girls on hand this morning. Full results will be on the Tour website by 6:30 this evening.

Zabot's First Win! Ruelling Just Misses the Three-Peat! Sand Takes Girls' Division! Terrific Day in Camrose!

Jul 19, 2018

A busy three-events-in-three-days week came to a rousing conclusion today at the Camrose Junior Open. Sunny skies, lights breezes and perhaps the best overall conditioning on Tour this summer greeted junior golfers from as far away as Grande Prairie, Bonnyville and Calgary this morning. Cole Ruelling of Lewis Estates was looking to run the table this week and he came close, but Zach Zabot of Eagle Point GC in Wabasca wasn't having any of it! Zabot fired a fine 1-over par 72 to pip ( Hey,,it's Open Week!) Ruelling by a single shot, as the Lewis Estates golfer was looking to add the Camrose title to his wins the last two days at Whitetail Crossing and Montgomery Glen. This was Zabot's first McLennan Ross Tour win and he was full marks for his efforts today. In the junior girls' division, Jenna Sand of Bashaw toured the slick greens and beautifully conditioned fairways in Camrose in 82 blows, five shot clear of Derrick's Alexa Wingnean. The complete story of today's event is now up on the Tour website.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
