One Down, 25 To Go!

May 31, 2014

The 2014 McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour got off to a fine start today in Drayton Valley, as the host clubs Matt McCourt fired an even-par 71 to defend his 2013 Drayton Junior Open title. McCourt was steady throughout his round and his margin of victory was a bit deceiving as runner-up Chandler McLaren of Wolf Creek had a rare 2-2 eagle-birdie finish to close with a rush on 2-over par 73. Clayton Dunn of Drayton Valley finished 3rd with a 75, while Cassidy Couture of Country Hills in Calgary was best among the junior girls on hand today with a 94. Full results are now on the website. Date Change for the "Kevin Hipple" at Pinebrook

Apr 22, 2014

The Kevin Hipple Memorial Junior Open has long been one of the Calgary area's major junior events, going back over 25 years. For the 2014 season, organizers at Pinebrook GCC in Calgary have changed the date of the "Hipple" to Wednesday, July 30th from its original date of Wednesday, August 6th. It will still be an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start, but this now avoids a conflict with an MJT event at McKenzie Meadows in the first week of August.
