Griffiths, Rietze Capture Olds Tourney

Jul 24, 2013

Despite severe weather within literally miles of the golf course, the Olds Junior Open went off without a hitch this morning at the beautifully groomed Old Central Highland GC. Katie Griffiths of River Bend in Red Deer fired the low junior girls round of the year on Tour today, an excellent 2-over par 74 to best 12 other girls on hand. Jeremy Rietze of Lacombe made the trip south on the QEII well worthwhile, as his 76 was tops among the junior boys in the field. Full results are now online. PLEASE NOTE!!! --- If you are in the field for tomorrow's Tour event at Country Hills GC in Calgary, read the News Item elsewhere on the Home Page for information regarding your tee time tomorrow. We had mistakenly informed the players that this event would be an 8 a.m. shotgun start, when in fact they will have tee times starting at 9:00 a.m.

Jul 24, 2013

For those players competing tomorrow morning at Country Hills, the tournament is NOT an 8 a.m. shotgun start. This was totally MY mistake, not that of the club. They are having tee times starting at 9:00 a.m. Players were to have received an email from the club today advising them of their tee time. My apologies in advance for any inconvenience if any players show up tomorrow morning expecting an 8a.m. shotgun start. If you have not received an email from Country Hills advising you of your tee time tomorrow, please phone their pro shop at 403.226.7777 to obtain your tee time. See you tomorrow....Dunc.

How Does the Tour Work? READ THIS, PLEASE!

Jul 23, 2013

The Tour is now well underway with ten events in the books. I still am getting many phone calls and emails from parents and kids asking questions about how the McLennan Ross Sun Junior Tour works. What does it cost? How do I enter? Should I wear stripes with plaid shorts? Very important stuff! Please take a moment and look up on the Menu Bar on the top of the home page. See the FAQ icon? It's over near the right hand side of the menu. Got it? Click on it. There are 15 questions on there that should give anyone a pretty good understanding of how the Tour works and what is expected from competitors. If after reading through the FAQ section you still have unanswered questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
