Back from Whitecourt! Another day, another playoff, another playoff with Konrad Turcotte in it! I'm starting to feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day! Patrick Gobran of Royal Mayfair birdied the 1st extra hole today to nip Turcotte in Whitecourt. Full results on the website by 9:00 p.m. this evening.

Unbelievable Finish in Stony!

Simply the best. In what was undoubtedly the most incredible, heart-pounding, spectacular golf, in your face playoff in the 18-year history of the Tour, Josh Gorieu of Stony Plain outlasted AJ Armstrong of Royal Mayfair and Konrad Turcotte of High Prairie on the third hold of a sudden-victory playoff this afternoon in Stony Plain. All Gorieu did was birdie all three holes of the playoff! Full results and the story of this sensational finish will be on the website by 9:30 p.m. this evening.

Out of the Fog....and Into the Light

Talk about pea soup! Dense morning fog gave way to warm sunshine this morning for close to 40 junior golfers from as far away as Calgary and Grande Prairie at the Goose Hummock Junior Open. Patrick Gobran of the Royal Mayfair navigated the water-lined fairways and slick hummocks of greens at "The Goose", firing a 2-over par 73 to take down his first Tour event of the summer. Annabelle Ackroyd of Silver Springs in Calgary was low junior girl today with a 93. Full results will be on the website by 6 p.m. this evening.

A Very "Hip" Tournament

The 29th annual Kevin Hipple Memorial Junior Open was held today at the immaculate Pinebrook GCC in southwest Calgary. Morning fog gave way to spectacular views of the Rockies as a season-high 70 players from across Alberta dropped in to test their games on the notoriously speedy Pinebrook greens. Ryan Rody rode his home course knowledge to a 4-shot victory, firing a 2-over par 73, with 5 players tied for 2nd on 77. A field of 13 junior girls was on hand, pre-tournament favorite Kenna Hughes of Willow Park held form, shooting a steady 77 for a 6-shot win. Full results will be on the website by 9 p.m. this evening.

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
