The 2013 schedule for the McLennan Ross Sun Junior Tour is nearly complete. Most of the sites from the 2012 Tour are back again, and we have some exciting new additions to the Tour as well. We are pleased to confirm the addition of Turner Valley GC to the Tour. Turner Valley has produced many outstanding junior golfers over the years, including former Girls Tour Champion Kali Gordon. We are waiting to firm up 2 or 3 more tournaments with specific dates, including a couple of other new venues, and hope to have the complete schedule announced by January 1.

Evanecz, Yip make it to Q-school Final Stage!

Nov 19, 2012

Mitch Evanecz of Red Deer and Ryan Yip of Calgary have both qualified for PGA Tour Final Stage of Q-School next week at PGA West in La Quinta, CA. Yip fired rounds of 68-72-66-67 (-11) at his Second Stage qualifying site in Plantation, FL to finish T13th. At Ryan's site, a score of -10 made it through to Final Stage. Mitch, who won the 2003 McLennan Ross Sun Tour Championship at Wolf Creek, played at Bear Creek GC in Murietta, CA, just north of San Diego. Mitch's scores of 66-72-69-73 (-8) were good for a tie for 6th place at his site, three shots clear of the cut line to make it to Finals. Next week, Yip and Evanecz will compete with the likes of players with names such as Patrick Cantlay, Ross Fisher, Adam Hadwin, Billy Mayfair, Camilo Villegas and many others. The top 25 and ties after 6 rounds at PGA West earn playing privileges on the PGA Tour next year, and the next 50 and ties earn full status on the Web.com Tour. Good luck to both Ryan and Mitch next week, as each seeks to become the first Albertan to earn a PGA Tour playing card.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
