The Show Must Go On!

Jun 21, 2013

Finally got to Lethbridge tonight, after a long detour east of Calgary thru Brooks and then south to Taber, and back west to Lethbridge. Very little rain here and the Henderson Lake course looks in great shape. We did get some cancellations from Calgary players, very understandably given the situation there, but the tournament IS a go for tomorrow. First tee time is 1 p.m. See you there!,,,Dunc

Henderson Lake Update!

Jun 21, 2013

Thursday, June 20, 8:00 pm - Despite the serious flooding in Calgary and much of southern Alberta, as of this moment, the Henderson Lake Junior Open is still a "GO" for Saturday and Sunday this weekend. I have been trying to get through to the pro shop at Henderson Lake all evening to check on their situation, but the 403 Area Code must be crashing, as the phone line has rung busy in the Henderson Lake pro shop all evening. Stay tuned to the website and our Twitter feed for further news over the next several hours and into early Friday. Friday, June 21, 8:00 am. - I just spoke with Paul Lowe, Head Pro at Henderson Lake, and he confirmed to me that the tournament is still ON for Saturday and Sunday. They are not expecting any more significant rain at Henderson Lake and unless something changes, we will see everyone at Henderson Lake on Saturday. If anything changes, I will get something up on the website ASAP.

Matt McCourt of the home Drayton Valley GC and Emily Creaser of the Derrick Golf and Winter Club earned their first Tour wins of the season today at the season-opening Drayton Valley Junior Open. Creaser, the 2012 Srixon Order of Merit winner, picked up right where she left off last year by firing a fine 81 to post her first Tour win of the year. Full results will be on the website by 6:30 pm tonight.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
