Wilson Bateman of Blackhawk GC in Edmonton has been named by Golf Canada as the #1 Junior Male Golfer in Canada for the 2011 season. The Year in Review

Sep 02, 2011

Now that the Tour Championship is in the books, and that I've had some time this week to catch my breath and do some long overdue office paperwork, I have had some time to reflect on the 2011 season for the McLennan Ross Sun Junior Golf Tour. There were lots of positives from the year, but we have some work to do as well. More »

Srixon Order of Merit Final Year-End Results

Aug 30, 2011

The 2011 Srixon Order of Merit standings were finalized yesterday at the conclusion of the 16th Annual Tour Championship at Wolf Creek Golf Resort. While only one of the four divisions had been settled prior to yesterday`s year-end tournament, and with points doubling in the Tour Championship, every leader managed to hold onto their leads and won very nice golf bags courtesy of Srixon - Cleveland Golf for their efforts. Congratulations go out to JT Kelly of Willow Park, Jeremy Rietze of Lacombe, Andrew Harrison of Camrose, and Katie Griffiths of Red Deer for their performances throughout the year. The Top 20 and ties in each division are now listed in the Order of Merit section.

That's a Wrap!

Aug 29, 2011

The Night Before,,,,

Aug 28, 2011

In the Super 8 in Ponoka,,,relaxing after doing the draw today, and making up the scorecards for the morning. We ended up with 126 players,,,105 boys and 21 girls...very mixed field of top tier Alberta juniors sprinkled in with younger players getting their first taste of top level junior competition with a provincial level field. Defending Boys Champion Tyler Saunders is in the field, but he has lots of competition from the likes of Matt Williams, JT Kelly, Andrew Harrison and others. We are guaranteed a new Girls Champion as Jennifer Ha has gone off to start her university career at Kent State. Top threats in the girls flight,,,Casara Hong,,Mandy Wong,,,Order of Merit winner Katie Griffiths,,,maybe Devon Spriddle or Cara Vanderham ,,,it's wide open. I will try to have a brief report on the website tomorrow night when I get back to Edmonton after the tournament, but I won't do the detailed results and final Order of Merit standings until Tuesday when I am back in the office,,,weather forecast is great,,highs of 28C,,,course is in terrific shape, with very little residual damage from the heavy rains and flooding in July. Registration starts tomorrow at 9,,,the tees go in the ground at 11...good luck everyone!
