Srixon Order of Merit Now Up To Date Through Nanton

The 2012 Srixon Order of Merit standings have been brought up to date up to and including Thursday's tournament at Nanton. Emily Creaser of the Derrick continues to run away with the Junior Girls' division, but the races continue to be close in all three boys' age divisions. Check the Order of Merit standings to see the Top Ten and ties in all divisions.

Woods, Reynolds Declared Co-Champions at Soggy Nanton

Early morning overcast skies turned into a steady drizzle this morning in Nanton, today's stop on Tour. When all was said and done, Dexter Woods of Silver Springs and Hidden Valley's Curtis Reynolds were tied for first with matching 75s. The players were declared co-champions rather than subject them to more cold and driving rain. Full results will be on the website by 9:30 pm this evening.

Zach Olson Wins at Home

Zach Olson of Strathmore was a bit worried last night as today's Strathmore Junior Open was going to be his last opportunity this summer to qualify for the Tour Championship at Wolf Creek. Turns out Zach didn't have much to worry about, as he cruised around his home track in a tidy 2-over 74 to capture his first Tour victory and earn his way into the field at Wolf Creek on August 27th. In the Junior Girls' division, Srixon Order of Merit leader Emily Creaser of the Derrick and Willow Park's Marisa Sambo tied for first with matching 89s. Ferreira Wins Playoff; Praught Best in Jr. Boys in Canmore

What a great ending to a fabulous day of golf today in the annual Canmore Junior Open. Blessed with the spectacular Rockies towering over the course, the Canmore event is always a 'must play' stop on the Tour. Laura Ferriera of the host club birdied the first playoff hole to defeat her good friend and clubmate Angela Cooke in the Junior Girls division, after each player had fired matching 82s. In the Junior Boys division, Eric Praught of Canmore made it a clean sweep for local players today by firing a fine 1-under par 70 to take down the junior boys' title. Complete results will be on the website by 9:30 p.m. this evening.

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
