Off to Grande Prairie!

Jul 21, 2012

Due to scheduling conflicts, I haven't been up north in several years to the Grande Prairie Jr Open at the Grande Prairie G&CC, one of Alberta's top courses. I am very much looking forward to getting back to GP this week. They have tee times starting at 10 a.m. on both Monday and Tuesday. They MAY have already closed off entries as of Friday evening, but if you would still like to get in, please phone the golf club TODAY to see if you can still get in.

Record Breaking Day In Camrose!

Jul 19, 2012

Andrew Harrison of Camrose, 15, is one of Alberta Junior golf's up-and-coming young players and he had the round of his young life today in the Camrose Junior Open, the latest stop on the Tour. Andrew shot a brilliant 4-under par 67 that featured a 6-birdie, 5-under par 31 on the back 9!!! The bad news for Andrew was that he finished SECOND in the tournament! Tyler Saunders went where no junior golfer in the 16+ years of the McLennan Ross Sun Junior Tour has gone before by shooting a mind-boggling 29 on his incoming 9, for a sensational 65, low round on the Tour this year. Full results and the story behind today's fantastic shotmaking will be on the website by 6 p.m. tonight.

Shaw Cable 10 Covers the Tour

Jul 19, 2012

At Tuesday's Leduc Junior Open, Shaw Cable 10 in Edmonton was on hand to film the proceedings and interview players and Tour staff. Their feature is running all day today, Thursday, July 19th, hourly. Check out Shaw Cable 10 in Edmonton for their feature!

Hawken and Turcotte Day in Wetaskiwin

Jul 18, 2012

One drove across town. The other drove halfway across the province. But Brett Hawken of the host Montgomery Glen GC in Wetaskiwin, and Kassidy Turcotte from Falher shared victories today at the Montgomery Glen Junior Open. Full results will be on the website by 6:30 p.m. this evening.

Playoff in Leduc!

Jul 17, 2012

The good news for Leduc's Pieter Peskens was that he improved on his 2011 score in his home club's Junior Open, firing a 2-under par 69 today, one shot better than last year's 70. The bad news was that Pieter came in runner-up for the second year in a row, as his good friend Brandon Hogue duplicated Peskens' 69 today and then birdied the first hole of sudden victory playoff to capture his first Tour title. Full results will be on the website by 5 pm today.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
