Perfect at Pinebrook

Aug 03, 2011

A gorgeous morning without a hint of breeze. A golf course in superb condition. Seventy juniors from across the province testing some of the trickiest greens anywhere. All the stars seemed to be aligned perfectly today for the Kevin Hipple Memorial Junior Open at Pinebrook GCC in Calgary, and we had an exciting playoff to decide the junior boys' title. Sebastien Turgeon of Willow Park earned his first Tour championship on the first hole of sudden death over Jasper's Travis Chorley after each player had fired an even-par 71. In the Junior Girls division, Country Hills' Mandy Wong was best with an 81 this morning. Full results will be on the website by 6:00 p.m. this evening. ---- 5:30 p.m. Made it with a half hour to spare,,results now online,,,,Now it's time for a margarita!!!!

Tour Championship Qualifier Letters Now Out!

Aug 01, 2011

We have emailed letters to the players who have qualified to date this year for the 16th Annual Tour Championship at Wolf Creek on Monday, August 29th. I was missing some emails from players and also had three emails bounce back to me as either I was given an incorrect email address, or more likely, I entered it incorrectly into the data base. I need the following players to send me a correct email address so I can send you your letter: Katie Griffiths, Kishanjit Grewal, Jaxon Lynn and Tyler Baumann.

Entry Information for Pinebrook and Country Hills - IMPORTANT!!!!

Jul 29, 2011

Friday, July 29th, 11:30 a.m. --- Just a reminder to all Tour players,,,,the next two events are in Calgary at Pinebrook on Wednesday, August 3rd for the Kevin Hipple Memorial Junior Open, and the following day, Thursday, August 4th at Country Hills. These are both excellent tournaments on beautifully manicured private golf courses in Calgary but BOTH EVENTS have an entry deadline of SUNDAY, July 31st. If you have plans on entering either or both events, ENTER TODAY to avoid disappointment. Both events are also 8 a.m. shotgun starts, not the usual Tour 9 a.m. start times for shotgun starts.

Srixon Order of Merit Updated Through Pheasantback

Jul 29, 2011

The 2011 Srixon Order of Merit standings have been updated to include all this week's events up to and including Pheasantback, with the exception of Grande Prairie. I now have the results emailed to me from Grande Prairie and we will update the Tour website later today with both the tournament story and results and with the Order of Merit points. Races in all four age groups are tightening up, and with the next four events all being south of Red Deer, this will give more players in those areas the opportunity to move up the standings, which up to now have been largely dominated by northern Alberta players.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
