Cam Hill, Mandy Wong Post Personal Bests Today in Carstairs

Thursday, July 29, 5:45 p.m. --- Just got home from Carstairs,,,lucky I wasn't going SOUTH on the QEII because it was a parking lot north of Ponoka due to road paving. Cam Hill and Mandy Wong of Country Hills each shot personal best scores today to win the Junior Boys and Junior Girls' divisions of the Carstairs Jr. Open. Hill shot in the 60s for the first time with a last-hole birdie 69, and Wong topped her former personal low score by three shots with a terrific even-par 72 today! Congratulations to both players. Rucki Wins, Career Low for Katie Griffiths today in Strathmore

Wednesday, July 28 6:30 p.m. ---Derek Rucki of the Calgary GCC made his first appearance on the Tour this summer a good one today, capturing the Strathmore Junior Open with a 2-over par 74, a solitary shot clear of Martin Boland of River's Edge. Katie Griffiths, 14, of River Bend in Red Deer, broke 80 today for the first time as this promising young player fired a personal-best 79 to capture the junior girls' division. Playoff Win for Brett Hogan Today in Canmore

Monday, July 26, 8:10 p.m. --- Brett Hogan of Willow Park birdied the first extra hole of a sudden victory playoff to capture the Canmore Junior Open today over Eric Praught of the host Canmore club after each player had fired an even-par 71 under ideal scoring conditions. A Tour season-high 18 junior girls were on hand today, as Kirsty Macdonald of Banff Springs went back to back, following up her win yesterday in Golden, BC with another triumph today. Sunday, July 25 - 7:50 p.m. - Just arrived in Canmore from Golden. Quick report on here, then some supper and will have the full report on the website later this evening. Kirsty Macdonald of Banff Springs fired the low round of the season on Tour for junior girls with a 1-under par 71 today in Golden, the low score of the day! Alex Cartwright of Canmore, who is now living in Victoria, BC, shot an even-par 72 to win the junior boys' division under scorching hot 32C temperatures in Golden. The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
