Young Players Take Centre Stage Today in Camrose

Thursday, July 22, 6:35 p.m. ---Youth WILL be served. Camrose was today's stop on Tour, and two young players served notice that they will be forces to be reckoned with, not only today but perhaps for years to come. Andrew Harrison, 13, of the host Camrose club became the 2nd-youngest winner in McLennan Ross Sun Junior Tour history today, and 15-year old Katie Griffiths of River Bend bested the field of junior girls on hand today in Camrose. Ryan Wilson, Sydney Johnson-Parker Win Today at Montgomery Glen

Wednesday, July 21, 6:40 p.m. -Ryan Wilson of the host Montgomery Glen GC in Wetaskiwin and Sydney Johnson-Parker of Glendale may have won the boys and girls divisions today at the Wetaskiwin Junior Open, but the star of the day was the food! After a short nap, I am back at work preparing the website update from today's very successful Tour event. Alex Rakowski Wins in Playoff at Leduc..Kristen Lee Wins Jr. Girls Division

5:00 p.m.,,,,After inclement weather forced the postponement of yesterday's event in Ponoka, warm sunny skies greeted a season-high field of 95 juniors today in Leduc. Alex Rakowski of the Edmonton Petroleum Club won the tournament on the first hole of a sudden victory playoff over Marc Reyes of Lancaster Park after both players tied with 74s. Kristen Lee of the Glendale fired a smooth 85 to capture the junior girls' division easily. McKinlay, Vermillion survive a soggy Lacombe

6:00 p.m. ---Jason McKinlay of Consort and Megan Vermillion of Broadmoor survived a waterlogged golf course in Lacombe today to capture the boys and girls divisions at the Jordan Brand Memorial Junior Open, today's stop on the McLennan Ross Sun Junior Tour. McKinlay, who is now working in the pro shop at Lacombe, fired a steady 1-over par 72, three shots clear of 13-year old Jason Martens of Windermere. Vermillion's 94 was low among the junior girls on hand today. Full results will be on the website by 7 p.m. tonight. --- 6:52 p.m. Full results are now online! I made it with 8 minutes to spare!

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
