Srixon Order of Merit Updated Through Ponoka, Plus Some Important Changes!

Aug 26, 2010

The Srixon Order of Merit has been updated through results from yesterday at Ponoka. These are the final "Regular Season" totals for the Order of Merit, with points earned on Monday at the Tour Championship counting double towards the final season totals to determine the winners of each age group. We have also made a change to the qualifying standards for the Tour Championship as they pertain to the Srixon Order of Merit. We are going to qualify the player in each category with the highest total of points for the complete 2010 schedule that did not otherwise qualify for the Tour Championship. This will reward one player in each category that maybe had some close calls throughout the summer, and managed to accumulate a good number of Order of Merit points, but who still maybe didn't have that ONE really good result that earned his or her way into the Tour Championship. As of Thusday, Aug. 26, the leaders in each group for these "Wild Card" Tour Championship spots are: Boys born in 1991-93 : David Scott, Sirocco GC (40 pts) Boys born in 1994-95: Kolby Vold, Wolf Creek (146 pts) Boys born in 1996 and later: Bobby McMann, Wainwright (80 pts) Girls: Rachele Nielsen, Summerland, BC (100 pts) Those players need to contact Dunc Mills at my email to obtain their Tour Championship Confirmation Letters. Wolf Creek has your names on the final list of qualifiers for the Tour Championship.

The Last Chance,,,The Last Dance

Aug 25, 2010

Originally scheduled for July 19, the Ponoka Junior Open today became the last regular season event on the 2010 Tour schedule after heavy rains had made the course unplayable in mid-July. Today, warm skies and virtually windless conditions greeted close to 80 juniors from across Alberta who dropped in for their last opportunity to qualify for next Monday's Tour Championship just down the road at Wolf Creek Golf Resort. For other players already in the field at Wolf Creek, it was an excellent opportunity to fine tune their gamers prior to next Monday. Travis Miller of Willow Park in Calgary made the most of his northerly trek today, firing a steady 1-under par 72 to nip Clinton McAllister of Pheasantback and Cody Hancock of Pigeon Lake, both of whom fired even par 72s. Blake Roberts of Broadmoor was solo fourth on 73. Full results SHOULD be on the website by 7:30 p.m. this evening but I have to hustle as I am hosting a Board meeting at my home at 7:30 so I'd better get cracking! Wednesday, 7:22 p.m.--- I MADE IT,,,with eight minutes to spare!!! Full results are now on the website.

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors.
