The Tour's annual stop in Canmore has always been one of the more popular tournaments on the schedule. I mean, what's NOT to like?  Spectacular Rocky Mountain scenery.  A golf course in superb condition. Delicious post-tournament meal.   Terrific on-site tournament organization and prizes GALORE!

Today's Canmore Junior Open was no different, as 58 juniors from as far away as Edmonton and Taber combined some family fun time with a spin around one of Alberta's most beautiful golf courses. Austin Noskiye continued his fine play on Tour this summer with another win, firing a steady 1-over par 72 to pip Richard Dou of Canyon Meadows by a single shot. Andrew Makarchuk of Taber and Cam Duffin of Red Deer GCC tied for third with 76s. As we had to cancel last week's Country Hills event, we awarded some extra qualifying spots today for the August 28th Tour Championship at Wolf Creek.  Qualifiers this afternoon included Duffin and Makarchuk as well as Cole Ruelling (83) of Lewis Estates from the flight for boys born in 2001 - 2002, and the host club's Tommy Sluka (77) from the flight for boys born in 2003 & later.  Wild Card qualifiers included Chase Broderson  of Lacombe and Carlos Bagni of River Spirit, both on 79.

We had 8 junior girls on hand today and Carly Johnston of the Edmonton Petroleum Club fired a very fine 74, six shots clear of runner-up Hunter Schmidt of Dinosaur Trail GC in Drumheller. Both earned their way into the field at Wolf Creek, along with a second Wild Card qualifier, Victoria Tse (85) from Country Hills GCC.

Next stop on Tour is Wednesday this week in Lacombe, followed up Thursday and Friday with one of the Tour's two 36-hole tournaments at Goose Hummock Golf Resort near Gibbons. Entries are still open for both events, but call on Tuesday to ensure your entry gets accepted.

Q = player qualified for Tour Championship at Wolf Creek GR on August 28

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
