A busy three-events-in-three-days tournament week came to a conclusion this morning at Trestle Creek Golf and RV Resort, about an hour west of Edmonton. Shown above is their spectacular "Signature Hole" - the par-3 7th hole on their Creekside Nine.  Trestle Creek has matured wonderfully over the last few years, and when the developers get this resort fully up and running in a few years, this is going to be a spectacular golf and recreation destination.  They have 18 holes in play now, with a third 9 under construction along with some exciting amenities for homeowners and resort guests.  We had 35 junior golfers from across northern Alberta at the course this morning to test their games on some of the slickest greens the kids have seen all summer on Tour.

Stephen Christenson of the Derrick was the best today, but not by much!  His 1-over par 73 was only a single shot clear of Edson's Chad McCartney, with yesterday's winner at the Pete Club, Ethan de Graaf tied for third overall with Sikander Kaleka of Stony Plain, each on 76. As we move down the home stretch of events on the 2017 McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour schedule (only 4 regular season events remain after today), players are scrambling to earn spots in the field at Wolf Creek, and Christenson and McCartney both punched their tickets today with their efforts.  Also earning spots today were Theo Hagg of Stony Plain from the flight for players born in 2001-02, Mitchell Shaigec of the Edmonton CC out of the flight for players born in 2003 and later, and Wild Card qualifiers Brady Davison, also from Stony Plain.

We had only three junior girls on hand today, and Alyshia Suleman of the Royal Mayfair was tops with a 95, followed by Zoe Banack of Edson (105) and young Victoria Kruczko (121) of the Edmonton CC

Next week is another three tournament week as the Tour heads towards the conclusion of the 2017 season.  Monday, we are in Stony Plain for their always well-attended clash, with a 2 p.m. shotgun start.  Tuesday is another event with a 'major' feel as we are privileged to drop in to  Blackhawk GC in southwest Edmonton, one of Canada's Top Ten golf courses as ranked by SCORE Golf magazine. A week today we are a little south of the city at Black Bull Golf Resort at Ma-Me-O Beach.  Entries are open for all three of these popular Tour stops, so if you ARE going to attend one or more of these tournaments, please PHONE THEM NOW so the host clubs can plan more effectively.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
