What we may have lacked in quantity ( two dozen kids on hand) we more than made up for in quality; both in the challenge of the golf course,  and the hospitality shown to players from as far away as Edmonton and Calgary this morning at Black Bull Golf Resort.  One of the toughest courses on the McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour, Black Bull's history on the Tour since 2006 has shown that cream rises to the top as evidenced by the calibre two-time winners Andrew Harrison and Nick Vandermey, for example.  Jarrett Bossert of Belvedere joined Harrison and Vandermey as double winners at Black Bull as he successfully defended his 2017 title with a 75 this morning, two shots clear of Josh Robertson of River Ridge.  Mason Kucy of Camrose was another shot back in solo third on 78.

This was the last event on the Tour north of Red Deer as we wind down the summer and look forward to the Tour Championship coming up on Monday, August 27th at Wolf Creek Golf Resort.  New qualifiers for the Tour Championship today were Owen MacEachern of Country Hills in Calgary from the flight for players born in 1999-2001, Denver Smith of River Bend in Red Deer from the flight for boys born in 2002-03  and Peter Hluskak of Stony Plain from the flight for boys born in 2004 and later.  Wild Card spots went to Carter Bettenson of River Bend, Brody Theophile of Trestle Creek and Country Hills' Ben Wong.

In the junior girls' division, Jayla Kucy of Camrose also earned HER third Tour win in the last four events to match Bossert's hot streak.  Her 92 was a very solid round considering  the degree of difficulty of this golf course, and the 12-year-old from Camrose will be among the favorites at Wolf Creek despite her tender age.

Q = Qualified for Tour Championship at Wolf Creek Golf Resort on August 27.

WC  = Wild Card Qualifier for Tour Championship

PQ = Player had previously qualified for Tour Championship.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
