Overall Top Ten:

BottomLeft :  Kalee Seto of the Royal Mayfair (L) , and Jarrett Bossert of Belvedere (R), champions at the Edmonton Petroleum GCC Junior Open today.,

Top Left : Don Smith of Crowe MacKay, the Tour's Presenting Sponsor, is a member at today's host club, the Edmonton Petroleum GCC.  Don comes to many Tour events to watch the players compete and to volunteer his time with the operations of the tournaments.

At Right:  An unidentifiable junior golfer today in the neck-high fescue left of the 12th fairway at the Edmonton Petroleum GCC.  YIKES!

THIS is Junior Golf.  An exceptional golf course in superb condition.  Eighty juniors of all ages and backgrounds from as far away as Grande Prairie, St. Paul and Red Deer.  Perfectly organized by the host club led by Head Professional Kyle Boyd and his entire team. Lots of parents and family members out to support their kids in their golf.  This was today's McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour event at the Edmonton Petroleum GCC.

The hottest player on the Tour lately has been Cole Ruelling of Lewis Esates, and he nearly hit the trifecta today in his bid for three Tour wins in succesion, but his even-par 72 was only good for T2 along with Kaiden Nicholson of the Edmonton CC.  Coming out on top today was Jarrett Bossert of Belvedere, no stranger himself to the winner's circle on the McLennan Ross Junior Tour and his 1-under par 71 got him to the wire with his nose in front. There was certainly a great vibe in the post-round banquet and banter as the players were certainly impressed with both the course conditions and the overall presentation of the tournament. Zach Zabot of Eagle Point was solo fourth with a 74.

The Tour Championship is coming up soon at Wolf Creek GR and several new players earned their way into the field today.  In addition to Kaiden Nicholson, other qualifers included Jason Ushko (80) from the Edmonton CC out of the flight for boys born in 2002/03 and Ethan Howes (87) from Ft. Saskatchewan from the flight for boys born in 2004 and later.  Wild Card spots went to Blackhawk's Will Holan (76), Connor Ackroyd (77) from Windermere and the host club's Blake Caron, also with a 77.  The field for the Tour Championship is getting stronger every day.

We had a nice field of 11 junior girls on hand today and young Kalee Seto of the Royal Mayfair shot about a stroke per pound with a fine 79, three shots clear of Alexa Wingnean of the Derrick.  Yesterday's winner in Ponoka, Jayla Kucy of Camrose got on the podium with a third place finish another shot back with an 83.  As these girls had all previously qualified for Wolf Creek, today's two spots went to Ella Gifford of the Royal Mayfair with a 92, and Wild Card Qualifier Regan Ackroyd (97) of Sturgeon Valley, who duplicated her brother Connor's qualifying effort today.

The Tour ends a busy week tomorrow morning about 45 minutes west of the city at Trestle Creek Golf and RV Resort, which we understand is also in fabulous condition.  Leave early for their 9 am shotgun start, kids!

Q = Player qualified for the season ending Tour Championship at Wolf Creek GR on August 27.

WC = Wild Card qualifier for Tour Championship

PQ = Player had previoulsy qualified for Tour Championship.

The players listed in the results are the Top Six and ties in each age group who thereby earn Titleist Order of Merit ranking points.  This is not a complete list of all the competitors on hand today,.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
