Overall Top Ten:

2018 RedTail Landing Junior Open Winners:  From L to R:  Brooke Brezovski of Sturgeon Valley, Junior Girls Champion, Matt Truong, Assistant Professional, Trevor Devlin of Blackhawk, Junior Boys Champion, and Jason Wiwad, Assistant Professional.

We were very pleased to be able to host a McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour, Presented by Crowe MacKay, event today at RedTail Landing GC in Nisku.  The course has hosted several Alberta Golf championships over the years, including numerous Alberta Opens and last week the 2018 Sun Life Financial Alberta Men's Amateur.  Unfortunatley, the 47 juniors on hand today from across northern Alberta did not see RedTail Landing at its best, as the course suffered some winter kill this year, but the hospitality and pre-tournament organization from the staff at the course was first rate.  The weather held out without any rain, and the kids all seemed to have a great time over a very fine layout.  They were also treated to a fabulous post-tournament pasta buffet featuring two delicious entrees, salad, pickles, fresh veggies and fruit. Outstanding!

We had a first-time Tour winner today on the boys' side as Blackhawk's Trevor Devlin fired a career-best in competition score of 2-under par 70, the low round on the Tour so far this year.  Devlin played a very solid game today, sprinkling in four birdies offset by only two bogies as he bested the 2017 Tour Champion Ethan de Graaf of Royal Mayfair by three shots. de Graaf finished T5 at the Alberta Junior Boys Championship two weeks ago in Sundre and was among several competitors on hand today who had also teed it up in Sundre against the province's best juniors. Devlin and de Graaf both qualified for the Tour Championship this morning with their play, but we will have a new Tour Champion this year, as Ethan will be leaving for university prior to the August 27th event at Wolf Creek Golf Resort.  Other qualifiers today included Blake Hammel (76) of The Legends GC in Sherwood Park from the flight for boys born in 2002 / 2003, Cade Mah (89) of Royal Mayfair in the flight for boys born in 2004 and later, and the final Wild Card qualifier Jaidyn Webber of Royal Mayfair.

In the junior girls' division today, Brooke Brezovski of Sturgeon Valley, another Alberta Junior competitor, made her first Tour start of the summer more than worthwhile, as she bested a field of 10 junior girls with a fine score of 81.  Brezovski had finished T9 at provincials and was 5 shots clear today of Kalee Seto.  Both players earned their way to Wolf Creek today with their efforts.

PLEASE NOTE!  Kalee , if you are reading this, I didn't get your Tour Championship information from you today at RedTail. Please contact me by email,,,,Dunc

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
