Wow, it was HOT out there today!  I have to give full marks to  the 30+ juniors on hand this morning at Trestle Creek GR near Entwistle.  They played a very challenging golf course in superb condition without a complaint.  I heard many compliments from the players today that the course was tough, but fair and in fantastic shape.  Head Professional Matt Matheson and his team at Trestle Creek are doing a wonderful job in the growth and development of this resort and from the looks of the third nine holes under development and the surrounding amenities at the facility, this course is destined to host bigger and better events in the near future.

Jarrett Bossert of Belvedere is having a fine summer, and captured his second Tour title in two days, coming on the heels of his win yesterday at the Edmonton Petroleum Club.  Bossert won  again today by a single shot, as his 76  edged Cole Ruelling of Lewis Estates and Chase Bodoano of Broadmoor who tied for runner-up with 77s.  Devin Kucy of Camrose was solo fourth with a 79, as the players battled some very challenging hole locations and the scorching heat.

With only three events after today leading up to the Tour Championship at Wolf Creek on August 27, many of the competitors in the fields have already qualified for the year-end windup. As a result, we are finding our event qualifiers a little further down the scoresheet some days.  The players today who earned spots at Wolf Creek were: Jesse Borgfjord (87) of Ft. Saskatchewan in the flight for boys born  in 1999-2001, William Creaser (80) of the Derrick from the flight for boys born in 2002/03,  and Quinn Brown (87) of the Edmonton Petroleum Club from the flight for boys born in 2004 and later.

Wild Card qualifiers today included Ben Lovrod (86) from Grande Prairie, Spencer Florchuk (85) of Ft. Saskatchewan, and clubmates Brady Davidson and Dylan Radke from Stony Plain who punched their Wolf Creek tickets with 84s.

Only three events remain on the 2018 Tour regular season schedule.  We are in Stony Plain this coming Monday, August 13th for a 2:00 pm shotgun start; at Black Bull Golf Resort at Ma-Me-O Beach a week today on Thursday, August 16th, and then one more trip down the QEII to Nanton on Tuesday, August 21st.  Entries are open for all three events and we hope to get solid fields of players at all three events before the kids head back to school at the end of the month.

Q = Player qualified for Tour Championship at Wolf Creek GR on August 27.

WC = Wild Card qualifier for Tour Championship.

PQ = Player had previously qualified for Tour Championship.

Code of Conduct

The McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour takes great pride in the quality of its competitors, its host facilities, and the support provided by our Corporate Partners. The efforts of the administrative staff and the volunteers that go into making the Tour so successful demand a very high standard of behavior and decorum from the competitors. We have therefore developed a formal Code of Coduct modeled on that of Alberta Golf that provides a set of guidelines for the young men and women that wish to compete in McLennan Ross Junior Golf Tour events.
